OXFORD: Kathryneeneey Watson, a resident of Oxford passed away Monday January 24, 2011 in Durham after an extended illness. She was a native of Granville Co. and was the daughter of the late Robert Vincent and Jessie Cottrell Beneey. Kathryn was a member of Hester Baptist Church, a graduate of Stovall High School and retired as Administrator of the ASCS office in Oxford. Kathryn was involved in the community and was active politically. Her experience in agriculture prompted her to initiate the local famers market that still remains today. Kathryn's talent for cooking was renowned among many and she found great joy in giving and sharing with friends and family. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday January 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM ineester Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Bridges and Dr. Lavelle Waters. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Robbie W. Worley of Oxford and Karen W. Speed and husband James Speed of Asheville; two grandchildren, Jordan Speed, Brad Worley and fianee Erin McGraw; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded ineeath by her husband Bradford Watson; sisters, Mattie Baker and Gladys Conner; brothers, Thomas Beneey, Fred Beneey and Clintoneeneey. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 at the Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Robbie Worley.
