Kenneth Edwin Norwood

Kenneth Edwin Norwood, 62, of Manns Chapel Road, Pittsboro, died neember 11, 2010 at his home following a brief illness. Mr. Norwood was born May 3, 1948 in Durham County, the son of Edwin A. aneevelyn O'Neal Norwood. He was a US Army veteran and was retired from Martin-Marietta where he worked as a welder. Mr. Norwood was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where he currently served as a Deacon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Mary Anneerkins Norwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Dr. John Marshall of Chapel Hill, Debbie and Robert Tripp, Jr. and Janie and Keith Dail all of Pittsboro; grandchildren, J. Benjamin Marshall, Jackson Marshall, Luke Marshall, Connor Tripp, Robert Wayne Tripp, III, Kaitlin Dail and Tanner Dail; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Johneelton of Montevideo, MN; and a niece. The funeral service for Mr. Norwood will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Robinson presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6 8 pm Saturday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be sent to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery Fund, or the Mt.
