???????? Kenneth John Walters, Jr. of Durham passed away on April 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born ineew York oneebruary 13, 1941.?? He was educated in Catholic schools.?? Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army.?? After the service, he worked for Liggett & Myers for 38 years.?? After retirement, Keneemained active by taking jobs at the Rolling Pin where he shared his love of cooking, followed by the DMV where he interacted with his neerous friends from the Durham area.?? He always had a great story about the people he saw at work each day. ???Mr. Ken??? was a man of great faith who lovingly supported his family, his church (Immaculate Conception), friends and the Vietneese community. Ken was preceded ineeath by his parents, Kenneth and Muriel Walters; and a sister, Dorothy Morgan. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Pat Walters; three children, Anne Marie Clifford (Marc); Brian Walters (Shannon); and Christine Walters; four grandchildren, Colleen, Ryan, Justin and Brandon; sister, Kathy Harrington (Don); two brothers, Dan Walters (Teri) and Bob Walters; and many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bill McConville, OFM, presiding. A reception in the gathering space will be held immediately after mass followed by burial with military honors at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday evening, April 18, from 6:00-8:00 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham.
