CHAPEL HILL ??? Kimberly Celeste Munguia, age 27, died oneebruary 17, 2020. She was born on August 22, 1992 to Juan (Tony) and Norma Guzman-Munguia. Kimberly was born in Houston, TX on August 22nd of 1992.?? In 1999, she moved with her family to Chapel Hill, NC where she graduated from Carrboro High School in 2010 before attending The Uneersity of North Carolina at Greensboro where she was majoring in Early Child Education and Family Studies with an eventual goal?? to become a social worker.?? Most recently she was employed at the Primrose School at Hope Valley Farms where she was an excellent teacher and looking forward to progressing ineer family???s business. Kimberly was an excellent dancer.?? She attended the Chapel Hill Ballet School as a child where she met her mentor, Gene Medler, and decided to make tap dancing her passion.?? She eventually was selected to join the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE) where she performed with other young aspiring dancers ineeveral places in the US as well as abroad.?? Before she danced however, she acted.?? When she was just 1 year her family moved to Mexico City where she filmed a television commercial for the Huggies Diapers brand which was broadcast nationally. She loved those who were the most ineeed.?? As a pre-school teacher her favorite students were those with special needs who she excelled in caring for and teaching.?? She did not meet a homeless cat she did not want to rescue.?? She was full of empathy for others.?? Theologian and Jesuit priest James Keenan said, ???Mercy is the willineess to enter into the chaos of another.????? By that definition Kimberly was merciful and in the end it was her desire to help another for which she paid the ultimate price. Kimberly was a loving and caring daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and cousin.?? But her greatest joy without a doubt was being a mother to her new born daughter River.?? From the day River was born for four ineedible happy and joyous months, the two were inseparable.?? Her greatest gift to us and the best part of her, is her daughter. Kimberly is survived by daughter River Munguia; mother, Norma Guzman-Munguia; father, Tony Munguia; sister, Nancy Munguia; brothers Willam and Yuriy Munguia; parental grandparents Juan and Coneelo Munguia; maternal grandparents, Eugenio and Flora Guzman, and many unees, aunts, and cousins.?? Kimberly was preceded ineeath by her unees, Jerry Munguia and Guadalupe Cruz. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2:30 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Chapel Hill, NC. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, February 20, 2020 between 6-8 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel, Durham, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NCYTE (www.ncyte.org). One final nee, if you are able to leave Condolences for Kimberly please provide a story about her.??
