OXFORD: LEAH AVERY PORTERFIELD- age 3, the daughter of Barry Wayne Porterfield and Barbara Smith Porterfield died Saturday in UNC Children's Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the New Horizons Baptist Church by the Rev. Cam Ford. Burial will be ineeadowview Memorial Park. Surviving in addition to her parents are, two brothers Aaron Davis Porterfield and Caleb Ross Porterfield both of Oxford; Paternal grandfather James Hughes Porterfield of Oxford; Maternal grandfather Paul Howard Smith of Henderson. She was preceded ineeath by paternal grandmother Betty Jean Porterfield and her maternal grandmother Zelma Faye Smith. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at New Horizons Baptist Church.
