OXFORD: Lily Mae Barnes, age 87, of 1111 College Street, died, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Brianeenter in Durham. A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Duty aneethel Dora Evans Stem. She was a member of Delrayno Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Chancel Choir, The Eastern Star Chapter 94 and a former Administrative Assistant in the Granville County Schools. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Delrayno Baptist Church by the Rev. Les Giles and Rev. Richard Wood. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving are her 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; Robert and Jane Barnes, son Chip, his wife Kati, daughters, Kathy Odom, Krissy Lyell and great-grandchild, Griffin Lyell; Al and Bonee Barnes, son Rob, wife Olivia; Susan and Jeff Gregg, their children Jay and Katie Gregg; Iris and Mike Dickerson, their children, Ben, his wife Katie and Dan Dickerson. Mrs. Barnes was preceded ineeath by her husband, Robert Thomas Barnes, Sr. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. prior to the service at Delrayno Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be at the home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Delrayno Baptist Church, 208 Rayland Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
