Lois Rue McKinney Fulp borneebruary 5, 1921, died at Duke Uneersity Medical Center in Durham, N.C. on March 22, 2009. She was born and raised in Hyde County, N.C. Her husband USAF M/Sgt Maurice Elmer Fulp and her son USAF T/Sgt Thomas M. Fulp preceded her ineeath. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Joseph Webb; grandsons Jay and wife Kimberly of Charlotte, N.C.; Paul aneelizabeth Webb of Apex, N.C.; and Stepheneebb of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter-in-law Mrs Margaret Fulp. grandson Christopher Fulp, U.S. Army and grandaughter Amy Fulp of Phoenix, AZ. There is a total of nee great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Earl, PH, and PD Mckinney and four sisters: Eunee Dwiggins, Irene Hinson, and Imogene Carawan of Salisbury, N.C. and Willie Testa of Balston Lake, N.Y., as well as neerous nephews and nieces. Mrs Fulp received training at Ellerbe Springs NYA Resident Center in Ellerbe, N.C. During this period she was President of the Judicial Board and when Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt toured the NYA Center, she was privileged to be on the Welcoming Committee. As a military wife of twenty five years, she lived in different cities of N.Y. State, N.C. State and Paris France for three years. From 1959-1998 she resided in Columbus, Ga. where she worked with the Girls Club of America for seveneeneears. A memorial Service is planned to be at the Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Durham, N.C. to be held by the family on Saturday March 28 at 2 PM. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Drs. Mark Lanasa, Dr C. Manik, Dr Daras, Dr Cockerman and Dr Moore and all the staff on 9100 floor. And we appreciated the attention of the Carolina Sportswear Staff on Franklin St. at Chapel Hill as well. In honor of her service to others the family suggests any memorials go to Dr. M. Lanasa / Lymphoma Research or to the Cancer Patient Support Group, Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, DUMC, Box 3828, Durham, N.C., 27710.
