Lottie Ripley Shaw

Lottie Ripley Shaw, age 97, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Treyburneealthcare Center. Lottie was born on neember 14, 1914 to the late Louis Otto and Ireneelliott Ripley. She was a lifelong resident of Durham and a member of Lakewood Uneed Methodist Church. Lottie met her husband, Calvin, while working at White Star Laundry. They enjoyed spending summers at Carolina Beach. Lottie retired from the Department of Social Services in Durham after 30 years. Lottie is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Cathy Shaw Perez, and son-in-law, Paul, of Durham; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to niece Debby Leonard and nurse Kathy Rogers of Treyburn. Lottie was preceded ineeath by her husband, Calvin L. Shaw, who died in 1966. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 24, at Maplewood Cemetery, Section 14, with Pastor Joe Winston presiding. Flowers are acceptable. On-line memorials: www.hallwynne.com.
