Louise Sullivan Cooper, age 93 died April 8, 2009 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Mrs. Cooper taught American History for a number of years at Durham High School. She was a member of the Tillman Bible class at Watts Street Baptist Church. A charter member of the Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, she was also the Maryland state president of the sorority. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Pinewoods garden club and the Current book club in Durham. She is survived by her daughter Betty Alex Epanchin of Greensboro; son-in-law Dr. John Lowery of Tuscumbia, AL; grandchildren Katherineepanchin-Butuc Paul Butuc of Astoria, NY, Michael Epanchin of Tampa, FL., and Hope Lowery of Hickory, NC; and great grandson Nicholas Butuc. She is preceded ineeath by her husband, Walter, her daughter Barbara Lowery, and her siblings; Anee Mae, Henry, and Howard Sullivan, Betty Smith, and Agnes Law. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday from Watts Street Baptist Church. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment following in Maplewood Cemetery.
