Lounell Howard Stallings of Oxford, NC went to her eternal home on September 7, 2020. She was born on November 24, 1961 to the late Cecil Maynard Howard Sr. and Rubie Dale Watkins Howard.

Lounell was a member of New Horizons Baptist Church where she served alongside her husband, Kip. One of her endearing qualities was her loyalty to her family and community. After graduating from J.F. Webb High School in 1980, she attended East Carolina University. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Lounell moved and served her hometown with a career in banking where she retired from BB&T in 2018. Her leadership extended into various committees and organizations that benefited the community in which she grew up.

Lounell is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kip Stallings; two sons, Brian Stallings (Ellen Shaw), Lance (Anna) Stallings; one grandson, Cade Stallings; her mother, Rubie Dale Howard; sister, Helen Brummitt; brothers, Zach and Cecil Howard, as well as a loving extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Duke Cancer Center, Amedisys Hospice, New Horizons Baptist Church, and countless friends for their support throughout this journey. There will be a graveside service with family only to celebrate the life of Lounell.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Building Fund at New Horizons Baptist Church, 3490 Sterl Carrington Rd. Oxford, NC 27565.
