Oxford, NC Lucius Leon Barker, Jr, age 85, died on neember 29, 2019. ??He was born to the late Lucius Leon Barker and Marie Tillotson Barker on April 28, 1934 in Vance County. Lucius was a strong man who was a tobacco farmer, a devoted man and a good father. His wife of 61 years, Nancy and he raised three children. He joined the Army and served his country for two years and returned home to run the family farm. Lucius is survived by his children, Anthony Leon ???Pete??? Barker (Sandra), Rose Marie Barker Harris (Tommy) and Robert Bailey Barker (Lisa); his grandchildren, Robin Thomas (Joseph), Christian Briggs (Brad), Sammy-Jo Dickerson (Doug), Ben Harris (Ellen), ??Nancy Pendergrass (Kevin), Bailee Barker and Jackson Barker; his great grandchildren, Madison and Aiden Thomas, Austin Briggs, Matthew and Ryan Harris and Loganeendergrass. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Josephine Barker Minor and Betty Jane Barker Ramsey. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family too neerous to nee and deeply missed by his beloved dog, Blackjack. Lucius was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy Reavis Barker; his parents; and his siblings, Elizabeth Barker Reavis, Nellie Barker Boyd, Sara Marie Barker Dunn and William Bailey Barker. Visitation for Lucius L. Barker will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Dexter Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall with a Service to follow in the Church officiated by Rev. Wayne Clark and Rev. Neil Woodlief. ????Burial will occur at Dexter Baptist Church Cemetery directly after the service.
