Lyla Dodd Kloos

Surrounded by her loving family, Lyla Dodd Kloos died peacefully on October 27, 2015 in Raleigh. Lyla was born to the late Lyle and Faye Fletcher Dodd in Hamburg, Iowa oneecember 18, 1939. She obtained her undergraduate and Master???s degree at Iowa State Uneersity. Lyla was always involved ineeeding the masses. She fed us literally as a church hostess at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh for over 25 years. She fed us spiritually by serving the community through voluneer work with many local organizations as well as going on many youth and college mission trips. She fed us with her love - a love that forgave when some might think forgiveness was undeserved, a love that listened with interest to even the most mundane things, and a love that granted wisdom and reason. Lyla is survived by her loving and devoted children, Holly Dressman and husband, Matt, of Durham, NC; Mark Kloos and wife, Shannon, of Raleigh, NC; and four grandchildren, Jake, Tyler, McKenee and Zachary. She was preceded ineeath by her sister, Jane Dodd. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, neember 4, 2015 at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh. A reception will follow in the Gathering place. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lyla???s memory may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607.
