Mabel Hatley

Mabel Marie Phillips Hatley, 83, died on Friday, May 14, 2010. Mabel was born in Durham to the late Mattie and Charles Phillips on May 23, 1926. Mabel was married to Jack Hatley on April 10, 1961. She worked at Duke Uneersity for 20 years and theneent to work for Southchem for 10 years. Mabel is survived by her sons Bruce Turner of Creedmoor and David Turner and his wife Carolyn of Wake County; daughter Carolyn Thornton and her husband John of Durham; six grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is predeceased by her husband Jack Hatley and her daughter in law Robin Turner. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, May 17, 2010 from Maplewood City Cemetery, 1621 Duke Uneersity Road, Durham. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
