Mable Meredith Gray

February 10, 1926 — June 4, 2021

Mable Meredith Gray, age 95, of Raleigh, NC died Friday, June 4, 2021 after struggling with dementia for many years. She was born in Eastland, Texas on February 10, 1926, to the late Jesse Lafayette Whisenant and Luceille Marie Fawcett Whisenant.

She met and married her late husband, William Edward Gray. She ran a courier service for over 30 years and put in many miles on her feet and vehicle. She was a tough, funny woman and loving mother with a heart of gold. They raised three boys and she was honored to be a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mable is survived by her sons, William Edward Gray, II of Marysvale, Utah and Steven Lewis Gray of Durham, NC; her 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her sister, Vickey Whisnant Moak, Fort Worth, TX. She is predeceased by her parents, 6 of her siblings, her husband, William Edward Gray and her son, Keith Allen Gray.

A memorial service will be held at the Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Woodlawn Memorial Park located in Nashville, TN on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 9:30 am. A Livestream will be available for the service.
