Mamie Welch Cash

Mamie Welch Cash, 88, died May 28, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Phyllis Howard, in Siler City. A native of Person County, Mrs. Cash was borneeptember 2, 1921, a daughter of Larry and Alma Duncaneelch. Mrs. Cash was retired from UNC, and was the widow of David Cash who died ineecember, 1997. She is survived by her son, Colby David Cash of Apex; daughters, Elizabeth Cash "Betsy" Woods of Shelby and Phyllis Cash Howard of Siler City; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Melba O'Briant, Selba Mangum, aneearlleane Hicks all of Roxboro. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded ineeath by brothers, Waylon and Victor Welch, and sisters, Margaret Welch and Mary Ann Price. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Lystra Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Susan Rogers and Rev. Virginia Taylor presiding. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 2:30 pm Sunday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Griffin Chapel, in Pittsboro, and at other times at the residence of Phyllis Howard.
