b. June 12, 1928

Margaret Frances Nichols was ushered into glory on Friday, March 22nd, at her residence in Pittsboro Christian Village, Pittsboro, NC. The daughter of Harry Hollins Davis and Frances Davis Nelson, Margaret was born in Cumberland, Maryland, on June 12, 1928. She graduated from North Augusta High School, North Augusta, SC in 1946. Ineer high school years, she took flying lessons, soloing at 17. Following high school, she completed nurse's training in Augusta, Georgia becoming a registered nurse in 1951. She then completed a year of Bible study at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. On January 14th, 1953, she married James Nichols in Chicago, IL. They settled in Cumberland, IA area and farmed for six years, and theneear Exira, IA for four years. In 1963, Margaret and James moved their family to Brazil, South America, where they served as missionaries for 27 years working in church planting and Bible teaching. On their return to the Uneed States, they once againeettled in the Cumberland, IA area before moving to be closer to their children in Augusta, GA, where James passed away. Margaret then moved to Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro, NC, in 2002, where she lived out what she called her "goldeneears". She loved the village and called it a "piece of heaven on earth". She is survived by four sons: James H. Nichols and wife Cheryl of Apopka, FL, Phillip D. Nichols and wife Raquel of Peotone, IL, Paul K. Nichols and wife Stephanie of Augusta, GA, John F. Nichols of Lilburn, GA; and two daughters, Mary Malchuk and husband Alan of Clemmons, NC and Ruth Hanneman and husband Steve of Lincolnton, GA. She also had twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren: Sarah Nichols Sloan, husband Stuart, and their six children Madeline, Mariah, Molly, Marissa, Malachi, and Mia; Rachel Nichols Price, husband Jeremy, and their four daughters Rylee, Reganeemmaline aneellie Kate; Daniel Nichols, wife Rebecca, and their son Michael, Paul Nichols and wife Aubrey, Anne Nichols Johnson, husband Daniel, and their daughter Ruth; Olivia, Luke, Caroline and Jesse Nichols, Cody Nichols, Hannah Malchuk Bradford and husband Benjamin, Joshua, Bethany and Jessica Malchuk, Aneew Hanneman and wife Danielle, Matthew, Jillian, Jacob, Nathan and Benjamin Hanneman. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, parents, brother Harry Davis Jr., sister Euleen Hubbard, and great-granddaughter Rebecca Johnson. Private graveside service will be at Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City, NC, on Friday, March 29th, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro, NC. In lieu of gifts, memorial gifts may be sent to Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East St., Pittsboro, NC 27312. The family is grateful for the wonderful care and love shown by the staff at Pittsboro Christian Village to Margaret and the family during her final days.
