Margaret Mary Glynn, 96, died January 6, 2021 at Pettigrew Nursing Home.
Margaret was born May 7, 1924 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late George and Julia Moylan Luebke.
She married John T. Glynn in Chicago, IL in 1953. Margaret (Marge) was a successful executive at Lytton’s in Chicago prior to becoming the loving mother of four children. Margaret lived in Chicago until 1971 when the family moved to Peru, IL. In 2008, she moved to Durham, where she attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved reading and spending time with her family. Margaret displayed strong values of family and education, and an infinite ability to plan and organize. One of the joys of her life was being the #1 babysitter for her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children John P. Glynn of Peru, IL; Dr. Julia Lewis (Edmund) of Nashville, TN, Ellen Parks (Donald) of Durham and Donna Sika (Mohammed) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Julie Parks, Amy Breyer, Megan Breyer, Jennifer Sika and Emily Sika and great-grandchildren, Ada, Zoe and Silas Taylor.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Glynn in 2009, her grandson Derek Parks in 2011, and brothers George and Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She will be buried next to her husband in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery, Durham NC.
