Margaret "Peggy" Eloise Reeve

d. July 22, 2019

DURHAM ??? Margaret "Peggy??? Eloise Reeve, age 67, died peacefully on July 22, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born oneeptember 5, 1951, to Delos Bartoneeeve and Marion Marsh Reeve. As a Navy brat, she was born in Trinidad and grew up in Italy, California, Hawaii, and Georgia. Perhaps her early exposure to beautiful places explains her lifelong love of the arts. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from the Uneersity of Georgia. After uneersity, she moved to Hawkinsville, Georgia to raise a family. While in Hawkinsville, she combined her twin passions for art and teaching as a high school art teacher. She found joy ineelping students hone their artistic ability, and in loving them by taking a genuine interest in their work and lives. She was a very active member of the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Arts Council, where her backdrops for the community theater were legendary, and she enjoyed hosting Artists ineesidence ineer home. To those who knew her she was an East Indian chicken curry maker (with all the condiments), a mallard duck defender, a talented (if overly perfectionist) painter, a John Kasich grassroots activist, a grinning jokester, a cat whisperer, an erudite critic of the visual arts, a Lady Gaga fangirl, and the most loving mother and friend. She was made a proud "Noni" on June 14, 2019, by the birth of her granddaughter, Eliza Ruth Lamar. The joy of her life was holding her and givineeliza Ruth her first arts and crafts lesson. Special thanks to the Duke Adult Bone Marrow Transplant team for the amazing care and genuine love and kineess shown to Peggy and her family. Peggy is survived by her two children, R.G. Lamar and wife Rachel, Sarah Tallent and husband Trent; two brothers Mike and Johneeeve, and her granddaughter Eliza Ruth Lamar. Peggy was preceded ineeath by her parents Doc and Marioneeeve.
