Marguerite Terese McCauley Kull, age 94, died peacefully ineer Durham home of 43 years on Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014. She was born to the late Mary Agnes Hannon and Charles McCauley ineewark, NJ on October 4, 1919. In 1937 she graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School in South Orange, New Jersey. On May 22, 1943, she married her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Frederick C. Kull. Marguerite was an active member of many worthwhile voluneer organizations such as the Watts Hospital and Durham County General Auxiliaries; the Catholic Daughters of Americas; the Study Club Durham; the Durham Garden Club; and the Fortnightly Club Summit, NJ. She was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, NC. Marguerite was also the recipient of the Catholic Daughters of the Year Award, Court Durham in 1982 -1983 and again in 1991, and twice regent of the Catholic Daughters of Americas. In 1982-1983, she was the recipient of the Durham County General Hospital Auxiliary Voluneer of the Year Award. In addition to her husband, Frederick C. Kull of Durham, NC; she is survived by her five children, Mary Ann Smith of Morristown, NJ; Pamela Schmierer of Ewing, NJ; Frederick Kull, Jr. of Durham; Richard Kull of Milford, CT; and Marguerite Thoma of Chapel Hill, NC; her sister, Elizabeth Dougherty; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by her sister, Mary Stevens; grandchildren Stephen F. Smith, III, Patricia Ann Kull, and niece Suseneean Dougherty Kreger. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Bill McIntyre, OFM, presiding. A reception in the gathering space will be held immediately after mass from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and then burial will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham.
