Marianna Rose Goodwin

Marianna Rose Goodwin, a resident of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Duke Medical Center. She was 12 years old. Marianna was born in Durham on April 28, 1994 to Franee. and Rosalind Volpe Goodwin. She was a rising seventh grader at Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill Marianna was a very determined aneenergetic individual, strong-willed and ready to overcome any challenge. She loved people and made friends wherever she went. Marianna loved to organee theatrical events for the family and made her own crafts designs and creations. She played piano, tennis and loved to swim. Marianna loved her tap dancing classes at the Ballet School and was an avid bowler. She was a girl scout, a world traveler, an honors student and a very hard worker. Her infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor delighted everyone around her. Marianna was lovely, courageous, a truly awesome child, who filled our lives with love and her wonderful self. Marianna is survived by her parents: Franee. and Rosalind V. Goodwin of Chapel Hill, NC; her brother, Adrian Goodwin, of the home; her grandparents: Edmond and Rose Volpe of Staten Island, NY; Francis and Greta Goodwin of Topsham, ME. The funeral liturgy will be offered 4:30 PM Friday, July 28, from St. Stephen
