Marie Lashley Cate

Marie Lashley Cate of Chapel Hill died at her home, Thursday, May 26, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Marie was born March 19, 1941 in Chatham County. She enjoyed working for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 37 years. Mrs. Cate is survived by her husband, William Larry Cate; son, Dennis Cate and wife Lisa; grandchildren, DJ Cate and Cyndi Swiger; great grandchildren, Abby and Aubrey; brother, Fred Lashley; sisters, Jeanette Edwards, Doris Snees and husband Joe, Linda Williamson and husband, Bob; seven nieces; and, six nephews. She was preceded ineeath by her parents James Michael Lashley and Mabel Hester Lashley. Visitation will be held Saturday May 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Orange Chapel Uneed Methodist Church with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment. Pastors Carl Belcher and Bob Eldridge will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions canee made to UNC Hospice, PO Box 1077, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
