Marie P. Mitchell

Marie P. Mitchell, 88, died Thursday morning, January 11, 2007 in the Pavilion at Croasdaile Village. Marie was born March 13, 1918 to the late Emil and Anna Iva McLaughlin Poppenhusen in Carson City, NV. She was a talented musician, serving as a church organist for many years while living ineentucky and Illinois. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, and traveling with her family. Marie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, J. Robert Mitchell; her daughter, MaryAnne Charlton and husband, Charles, of Sarasota, FL; her son, J. Robert Mitchell, Jr. of Lafayette, IN; her sister, Joan D. Raper, of Paducah, KY, four grandchildren, Charles Michael Charlton, John Robert Charltoneelisha Dawn Grigsby, and Jenna Rebecah Faulkner, and four great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded ineeath by her daughter- in- law, Brenda D. Mitchell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 16, from the William Prestoneew Chapel at Croasdaile Village with the Reverend Milton Hadley officiating. Interment will follow in Montlawneemorial Park in Raleigh. Friends may visit Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the William Prestoneew Chapel.
