Mary Carol Johnson

DURHAM-Mary Carol Johnson, 67, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. Born on April 24, 1946, Ms. Johnson was the daughter of the late Albert Richard aneedith Arnold Johnson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a long-time resident of Durham. Carol is survived by her brother, Al Johnson and wife Alice Ann of Greensboro, NC; her niece, Edie Johnson and husband, Jason Overall and their son, James of Knoxville, TN; her nephew, Andy Johnson, his wife Michaella and their daughters, Emma Lee, Kerri and Dorothy of Macon, GA. During her professional career, Carol worked as a social worker, was employed by the Girl Scouts of America aneended her career with the Durham County Public Schools. She enjoyed beach vacations, her dogs Benji, Jake and Josh, church activities, and home decorating. The family would like to express deep appreciation to Pastor Marilyneedgepeth, the wonderful network of faithful friends from First Presbyterian Church as well as caregiver and dedicated friend Rena Pinnix who supported Carol ineecent years. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00am, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 305 E Main St., Durham, NC 27701. A reception will follow.
