Mary Ellen Gunter

DURHAM - Mary Ellen Gunter, 89, died Sunday night at the LaSalle Healthcare Center. Born in Durham, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Gunter and Anee Belle Lockamy Gunter. Miss Gunter served in the U. S. Army. She was retired from Burlington Industries and she attended Grey Stone Baptist Church. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Pansy Browning Gunter, of Durham; four nephews, Buddy Gunter, Bobby Gunter, David Gunter and Skippy Gunter, all of Durham; and two nieces, Billie Cole, of Durham and Cookie Bressler, of Greenville, S.C. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Forest M. Gale Jr. will preside. On-line memorials: www.hall-wynne.com.
