Mary Frances Upchurch

CARY: Mary Frances Dunn Upchurch, "Franee", daughter of Raymond Broughton and Myrtle Booth Dunn passed away on January 19th 2017. She was 74 years old. Born in Durham, N.C., Franee graduated from Durham High School in 1960 and the Watts School of Nursing in 1963, where she was a member of the Santa Filomena Honor Society. Her husband, Rupert Truette Upchurch, preceded her ineeath in June 2000, as well as her brother Raymond Franklin "Bucky" Dunn in 1999. She is survived by one son, John Gregory Upchurch, and wife, Pallabita Patnaik of Apex, NC; granddaughter, Simran Tara Upchurch; step-grandson Udayaneenapati; her mother, Myrtle Booth Parrish; half-sister, June Robinson, of Virginia; sister Jean Kafina, and husband Joe, of Durham, NC; nephew Jeremy Lee Upchurch and his daughter, Sarah. Franee retired from nursing in 2000 following thirty seveneears of active employment.?? She theneegan to garden, paint and draw. During these years she reuneed with a friend and former neighbor, Jimmy Aneews and they became the most "significant of others" in the last sixteeneears of her life. They lived together, worked together and loved together. They trusted, depended and were completely faithful to each other. She could not have imagined the last sixteeneears of her life without him. She knew that God had a plan for her life, but for it to have included Jimmy was the most wonderful of blessings. There will be no services. Cremation will be carried out and haneed by Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
