Mary Helen Younge Smith

Oxford: Mary Helen Younge Smith, age 89, died Sunday, April 5, 2009. She was a native of Granville County and the daughter of the late Edward Ossie and Lizzie Culbreth Smith. She was the widow of Edward E. "Smitty" Smith and a member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 7 at 11:00 A.M. at Meadowview Memorial Park by the Rev. Terry Howard. She is survived by her son E. Ossie Smith and wife Dale; two granddaughters, Jenneer S. Keith aneelizabeth S. Land Sheldon; three great-grandchildren, Laureneeith, Madeline Keith and Holden Land; one sister Louis Y. Vaughan, all of Oxford. She was preceded ineeath by one sister, Ruby Y. Elliott. The family will receive friends Monday, April 6 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford. At other times at the home of Ossie and Dale Smith, Quailridge Rd.
