Mary Teer Barringer

Mary Teer Barringer passed away on November 22, 2021, in the home in which she was born on November 10, 1935. The daughter of Mr. Hubert O. Teer and Mrs. Mary Ruth Wright Teer, Mrs. Barringer was educated at the Calvert School (now Durham Academy), The Knox School (Cooperstown, NY) and Duke University.

She was presented at the Terpsichorean Society Ball in 1954. She was married to Russell N. Barringer, Jr. on November 17, 1955.

She is survived by her husband, their three sons, Russell N. Barringer, III, Edward T. Barringer and Stephen W. Barringer, her daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service and internment is planned. A memorial service will be held at Duke Chapel on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 2:00 PM, with reception to follow at the family’s home.

The family will be at home Tuesday, November 23, 2021, and Wednesday, November 24, 2021, to welcome visitors.
