Matt Hobgood Adcock, Sr.

OXFORD: Matt Hobgood Adcock Sr., died December 31, 2011 at his home. A native of Granville Co. and the son of the late Melvin B. and Alma Brooks Adcock. Matt was a lifetime farmer, member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a former member of the NC Army National Guard. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Rites. Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Mary Catherine Jones Adcock; son Matt Adcock, Jr.Tammy of Oxford; daughter Kimberly A. HiteWaverly of Oxford; three grandsons, Christopher Matt Adcock, Jonathan Adcock and Logan Hite; three brothers, Burley Adcock9Anita, Billy AdcockPeggy aneedward "Buck" AdcockCornelia all of Oxford. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 AM Tuesday in the fellowship hall of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
