Maurice Terrell Paine III, 65, passed on to the Lord February 2, 2014. He was borneeptember 23, 1948 to the late Maurice Terrell Paine Jr. and Mary Kay Hough Paine in Evanston, Illinois. Maurice was a graduate of New Trier Township High School in Winnetka, Illinois and Duke Uneersity in Durham, North Carolina. Following graduationee served his country as an A6 Pilot in the US Navy. Maurice retired after 30 years as a real estate agent in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was an avid and accomplished golfer, loved history and sharing life's lessons and stories with his grandson Aneew Paine McGavran. Surviving are: his wife, of 38 years, Linda McLaughlin Paine of Durham, NC; two daughters, Jenneer Paine Hardee of Washington, D.C. and Rebecca Hough Paine of Durham, NC; grandson Aneew Paine McGavran; future son-in-law Randall Jonathaneekowski of Dallas, TX; a sister, Mary Paine Gillen and husband, Dan Gillen, of The Villages, FL; and two brothers, Peter Scott Paine and wife, Mary Atha Paine of Wilmette, IL and William Randolph Paine and wife, Elizabeth Campbell Paine of Park Ridge, IL. Memorial services will be held 11:30am Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1737 Hillandale Rd, Durham, NC 27705. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made ineemory of Maurice Terrell Paine III to the Duke Cancer Institute supporting melanoma research, 710 West Main Street, Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701 or to St. Luke's Episcopal Heritage Fund, 1737 Hillandale Rd.
