Merle J.Minor

On Friday, October 5, 2018, Merle J. Minor, 82, passed into his heavenly home after aneextended illness. He is predeceased by his parents Aubrey and Wava Minor and a brother Reade Minor. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Peggy Ross Minor. He leaves two children a daughter Carolyn and Ryan Wise and a son William and Sharon Minor. He leaves also a grandson Jonathan and step grandchildren Matthew Wise, Liesl Wise, Abby and Quintoneee and Katie and Anthony Cichorz as well as great grandchildren Colin and Carson Cichorz. Merle retired from IBM in 1991 and went on to work as a handyman to repair and refurbish many homes in the area. He enjoyed camping as part of the Good Sam???s Club and was an active member of Parkwood Uneed Methodist Church for more than 50 years. The visitation will be held Wednesday, October 10th at 1:00 p.m. at Parkwood Uneed Methodist Church followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00p.m. Following the service there will be a graveside gathering at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Parkwood UMC, 5123 Revere Rd, Durham, NC 27713 or the Hock Family Pavillion Hospice at 4023 N. Roxboro St, Durham, NC 27704.
