DURHAM – Miguel Aguirre, age 80, died in Durham, North Carolina on November 7, 2020. He was born on December 16, 1939 to the late Juana Castillo and Silvino Aguirre.
Miguel was a proud Mexican. He was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. Although he was only able to go to school until the third grade he was wise beyond. Beating a calculator with math problems. He was a produce truck driver, which he took much pride upon with joy. One in particular that many migrants are very familiar with, which is in agriculture, picking fruit, vegetables, etc. He then became a produce manager at one of the biggest produce warehouses in Los Angeles. His warehouse being the best in deliveries and quality of the produce, that managers from stores like Safeway enjoyed and only wanted to work with him. He held up to his integrity, was a man of his word. He was a caring boss, friend, father, but most of all GREATEST GRANDFATHER EVER! He always looked out for his family and friends. He held this position for many years until his first heart attack in 1985. BEST awards and achievements he left behind are all of the grand and great grandchildren he had and raised. He Loved soccer, # 1 ATLAS fan, watering the garden and planting gardenias, cooking and catering for Quinceaneras and gathering was one of his best past times. Member of Presentation of Mary Catholic Church in Los Angeles, Ca and Immaculata Concepcion in Durham NC. He was a Eucharistic minister, a Lector, and an usher. His service to the church and his family was behind.
Miguel Aguirre is survived by wife, Irma Yolanda Aguirre. Children: Susana Hernandez, Patricia Estrada, Ana Velazquez, Francisco Aguirre, Monica Aguirre, Irma Villareal, Angela Ambriz, Lourdes Hernandez, Jose Miguel Aguirre, Edelmira Amezquita, Miguel Aguirre, Edelmira Aguirre, Juana Aguirre, Jesus Aguirre, Maria Aguirre. Raised as his own Jennifer, Brian, Tiffany, Bridgett, Timothy, Kenneth, Crystal, Jeremy, Nadia, and Christian, over sixty grandchildren and over 40 great grandchildren
