Mr. William "Bill" Barr

Mr. William Barr, 87, of Pittsboro, NC passed into the presence of his Lord on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Pittsboro Christian Village. Mr. Barr previously resided in Charlotte and Winston Salem, NC, Florida and Michigan. He was a committed believer in his Lord Jesus Christ and greatly desired and prayed for the salvation of his entire family. He was a faithful husband and caregiver to his wife, V. Marion McMaster Barr, who preceded him ineeath. For many years, he served as a Deacon and/or Elder in his churches. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, having honorably served in both the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, Mr. Barr was preceded ineeath by his parents; William J. aneelizabeth Barr; his son, William Aneew Barr; and his brothers, Ernest W. Barr and Howard S. Barr. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Beth Cherry and husband, Paul, of Charlotte, NC, Nancy L. Barr of Indian Land, SC, and Linda K. Barr of Winston Salem, NC; his son, William M. Barr and wife, Sandra of North Richland Hills, TX . Grandchildren Christi Cherry Henry and husband, Jeremy, of Indian Land, SC, Rebecca Cherry Griggs and husband, Michael, of Charlotte, NC, Sarah Cherry Moore and husband, John, of Indian Land, SC, Aneew Paul Cherry and wife, Michelle, of Woodbridge, VA, Katie, Ryan and Melissa Barr of N. Richland Hills, TX and his great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Zachary Henry, Megan, Jacob and Levi Griggs, and Micah aneezra Moore. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro, NC. The family will be available for visitation from 9:45 - 10:30am. Interment will be held at 3:00pm at Magnolia Memorial Gardens at Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill???s honor to: Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East St., Pittsboro, NC 27312.
