Pearl Flake Brockwell June 26, 1921 ??? May 30, 2015 Mrs. Pearl Flake Brockwell, 93, peacefully passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Croasdaile Village in Durham, NC. Born in Pitt County, NC, she is the daughter of the late James W. and Betty Moye Flake. Pearl loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. She was devoted to her family and had a strong faith. She taught Sunday School for 25 years and was active in the Americaneegion. She was arguably the ???BEST??? grandma, ever; also known as: ???Nanee, Nanny & Nanie.??? In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded ineeath by her husband, Thomas Floyd Brockwell; her soneernest Eugene Brockwell and her son-in-law, Karol Lloyd Mason. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Lou Mason; her daughter-in-law, Evon W. Brockwell; her nephews, Charles (Delores) Flake and Bobby (Virginia) Flake; her grandchildren, Carolyn (Larry) Webb, Patty (Terry) Garrison, Phyllis B. Watson, Laura (Don) Cooper and Floyd Wayne Brockwell; her great-grandchildren, Maggie Tomlinson, Trent Cooper, Courtney Nealeans, Carly Garrison, Steven T. Watson and Mason Cooper; and her great-great-grandchildren, Austin Wilkins, Ava Jane Tomlinson, Jayden Cooper, Reynolds Tomlinson, Carsoneealeans and Anee Nealeans. The the family will receive friends 10:00am Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Carrboro UMC, 200 Hillsborough Rd, Carrboro, NC 27510. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Mrs. Brockwell will be laid to rest at Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Carrboro UMC.
