Myrtie Best Hall

Myrtie Best Hall, age 90, resident of 1515 Pettigrew Street, died Sunday evening . Mrs. Hall was born in Johnston County and was the daughter of the late Joe and Ida Harris Best. She moved to Durham in 1923 and has lived here since. Mrs. Hall loved gardening and sewing. She was a former member of Guess Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Hall was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Turner Hall; three sons, Fred Gordon Blaylock, Ronee Ray Hall and Robert James Blaylock. Surviving are a daughter, Clara Hall Thomas and husband, Gary of Durham; two sons, Danny K. Hall and wife, Linda of Chapel Hill and Bobby Blaylock and wife Lisa of Wadesboro; five grandchildren, Sabrina Hall, Candice Tharrington, Trina Porter, Robert Blaylock and Fred Gordon Blaylock, Jr. and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. Mrs. Hall will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
