Myrtie Gresham Blackwell

OXFORD Myrtie Gresham Blackwell, age 87 a resident of 8136 Dick Blackwell Rd. died Wednesday neember 19, 2008. She was a native of Granville Co. and was the daughter of the late Roy and Bobbie Burchette Gresham. She was a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church, she taught the Senior Adult Sunday School Class for 40 plus years and was a retired school teacher in the N. C. Public School System teaching 31 years. Funeral services will be held on Friday neember 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnny Richards. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford. Surviving are her husband, David R. Blackwell; daughter Joy Olivia Blackwell of Oxford, daughter-in-law Helen Blackwell of Oxford, step-daughters, Delores B. Owen and Joyce B. Cifers both of Oxford; step-son Eugene B. Blackwell of Oxford; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by a son Roy Charles Blackwell and husband Charles Leslie Blackwell. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Scott Ayscue, Justin K. Blackwell, Jordan Blackwell Boyd, Charles Parker Cannada, Christopher Alan Capps and Stephen Dale Jones. The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 PM at the Gentry- neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home.
