Myrtle Glenn Hunt

(Durham) Myrtle Glenn Hunt, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Duke University Medical Center.

Myrtle was born in Durham, to the late Rueben Glenn and Nora Mangum Glenn and raised in East Durham.  After marrying Bill, they moved to Hillsborough, N.C. where they spent their life together. Myrtle worked in the accounting field until the birth of her two sons, at which time she became the best stay at home Mom.  She acted as second Mom to many of the neighborhood children. She was the Den Leader for her children's Cub Scout groups. She also enjoyed gardening, canning the fresh vegetables, and spending time with her family.  Myrtle was always kind and loving to everyone she met. She had a loving soul and a beautiful smile. She will be truly missed by all.

She is survived by her sons David Glenn Hunt and James "Mike" Hunt (Julie). Grandchildren Andrew Hunt (Kelly), Kristin Hunt Beaver (Cody), Mallory Woody Ballard (Derek).

Great-grandchildren Cameron, Brayden and Eleanor, and was joyfully awaiting her fourth great grandchild Jameson in October.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Wilmer "Bill" Hunt, Jr.

Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church, Guess Rd. in Durham on August 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with the Elder Sam Whittington officiating.
