Nancy Moss Dickerson, age 69, died unexpectedly on October 16, 2021. She was the daughter of the late James Bernard Moss “Jim” and Dorothy Wilkins Moss “Dot”. Nancy was born in Granville County on April 18, 1952.
Nancy retired with nearly 30 years of service as an LPN with Murdoch Center and was also certified beautician. Nancy never met a stranger and loved to make new friends. She was a sweet, caring and kind woman who was loved by many.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Woodrow W. Dickerson, Jr.; their son, Kevin D. Dickerson (Sherry); her grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron, Hayley and Sarah; and her great grandchild, Maxii Grace. Nancy also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews, too numerous to list. She will be missed by her close friends, Jean Huff, Wilhelmina “Ma Piggy” Parham, and others who were like family. Nancy touched many lives and will be missed dearly by so many in the community.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Moss Lunsford.
A visitation will be held for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan, Oxford, NC. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Providence Baptist Church where Nancy and Woodrow are members. The services will be officiated by Rev. Randy Pittman. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made in her honor to the Brotherhood of Providence Baptist Church.
