Natalie Louise Lavin

Natalie Louise Lavin, age 84, of Galloway Ridge, Pittsboro, NC died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC. She was born in Youngstown, OH on neember 22, 1923 to the late Gordon and Marjorie Lechleitner Brewster. Natalie worked as a nurse as well as a nursing instructor in Duke Hospital's early years. She was an avid tennis player, sports fan, and traveler. She later became a prize-winning quilter and accomplished painter. Her greatest gift was to love and be loved by those around her. Mrs. Lavin is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Marvin B. Lavin of Galloway Ridge; her son, Gordon K. Lavin, MD and wife, Catherine N., of Durham, NC; her sister, Georgia E. Evans and husband, Jack S., of Avon, OH; and four grandchildren: Kyle N. Lavin; Cora E. Lavin; Caroline A. Neyland; and Catherine A. Neyland. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 27, from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham. Cremation will follow the visitation.
