Odilon Palomo

January 1, 1948 — March 22, 2025

Henderson, NC

Odilon Palomo, affectionately nicknamed “Maistro” by his close Hispanic friends and “Happy," by his American friends was born on January 1, 1948, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He departed this life on March 22, 2025, in Henderson, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy marked by hard work and resilience.

Odilon's journey began when he started apprenticing as an electrician in Monterrey, Mexico demonstrating an early commitment to learning and growth. He pursued further education, ultimately gaining the title “engineer “although he was not licensed, he knew the trade and was often a mentor to those who were newly licensed. His ambition took him to the United States, where he followed the seasonal agricultural work and later transitioned to roofing. This diverse career path reflected his unwavering determination and adaptability in the face of challenges.

Despite the hurdles he faced in his youth, where he was told that school was no longer an option and that he was to work instead, he never allowed fear of hard work to deter him. Instead, it fueled his resolve to achieve and support his loved ones. Odilon's story is one of perseverance, and he will be remembered for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Marcelina Palomo, and his children Odilon Palomo Jr., Mariana Palomo, Maria de la Luz Palomo, Juan Carlos Palomo, Graciela Palomo, Alexandro Palomo, Alejandra Palomo, and Kristie Harris-Moreno, who will greatly miss his presence, guidance, and the joy he brought into their lives. He is also survived by his children from previous marriages: Anastasia Romo, who has passed, is the mother of the first six children; Betty Palomo, his second wife, is the mother of Kristie Harris-Moreno; and Deedria Dozier, his third wife, is the mother of Alejandra Palomo.

Odilon is predeceased by his parents, Maria Dolores Coronado Villanueva and Pascual Palomo Ortiz, who surely take pride in his accomplishments and the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him, reminding them of the importance of hard work and a positive outlook on life.
