Orville Vernon Dixon Sr.

Mr. Orvill Vernon Dixon, Sr., age 82 of Pittsboro, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010. Orville was born in Jacksonville, NC oneebruary 13th, 1928, and was a long and avid NASCAR fan who neer met a stranger. He also spent 55 years in farming and construction. He was preceded ineeath by his loving wife, Gurtha Stanley Dixon of Hubert, NC. Left to carry on his memory is his sons, Tommy Dixon and wife Bette, Orville Dixon and wife Linda, Craig Dixon and wife Denee; grandchildren, Sonny Dixon and wife Jill, Charity Gales and husband Bobby, Gabrielle Dixon, and Harrison Dixon; niece, Lynn Hyder and her son Wayne. The family will receive friends Monday, June 21, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Hall Wynne Funeral Service in Pittsboro. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10AM at Emmaus Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
