DURHAM – Patricia “Pat” Jane Walsh, age 88, died at Brookdale Senior Living on August 18, 2020. She was born on February 29, 1932 to the late Charles and Allene Walsh.
Pat was born and raised in Corinth, NY. As a young woman, Pat decided to pursue a career in nursing. She later moved to Durham, NC with five other nurses, to continue her career at Duke Hospital where she stayed for 25 years; she served in the orthopedic unit as the head nurse. Pat enjoyed painting, visiting with her neighbors, and taking care of homeless cats. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She appreciated many people in her life but specifically adored her close friends Joann Douglas, Margaret McCotter, Barbara Bevan, and Gloria Stevens. While she never had a drivers license and had to hail a cab wherever she went, she became close friends with her preferred cab driver, Joe.
Pat leaves behind her beloved cat, Katie. Special thanks to Brookdale Senior Living for their care and concern.
