Patricia Lavell Robertson

Durham ??? Mrs. Patricia Lavell Robertson died Tuesday evening at the Forest at Duke Health Center. Trish was born ineenatchee, Washington on March 12, 1927. She attended schools ineenatchee and Seattle and attended from the Uneersity of Washington. In August of 1947, she married H. B. Robertson, Jr. During her husband???s career in the Navy, they lived in San Diego, Key West, Washington, DC, Hawaii, Norfolk, Newport, and the Philippines. During this time Trish was active in the Navy Relief Society, church or Navy Chapel, her sons??? school and scouts activities, and the Americaneed Cross. She also worked for several years in the Arlington and Fairfax County, VA, schools. Following her husband???s retirement from the Navy, they moved to Durham where Robbie was on the faculty of Duke Law School. Trish was active at Epworth Uneed Methodist Church, and a leader in the Central North Carolina chapter of the Americaneed Cross. At Red Cross, she served as a disaster response voluneer, Chairman of Voluneers, Chapter Chairman, and on neerous local, regional, and national committees. The May, 2006 opening of the Center for Senior Life was the culmination of Trish???s efforts as co-chair to raise the funds for construction and start-up of the Center. She worked for several years in the Duke Uneersity Office of Alumni Affairs. Trish is survived by her husband RADM H. B. Robertson of Durham; sons, Mark, and his wife Debbie of Columbia, SC, Jim and his wife, Melinda Taylor, of Austin, TX; and grandchildreneemily, Helen, Nick and Julia. A memorial service will be held at Epworth Uneed Methodist Church on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00pm. Officiating will be Rev. Karen H. Whitaker. A reception will follow at the Forest at Duke, 2701 Pickett Road, Durham, NC 27705. Private burial will take place at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central North Carolina Chapter of the Americaneed Cross, 4737 Uneersity Drive, Building 3, Durham, NC 27707, or to the Endowment Fund of Epworth Uneed Methodist Church, 3002 Hope Valley Road, Durham, NC 27707.
