Paul Crawford Boyd

OXFORD: Paul Crawford Boyd, age 75, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Crawford and Lee Barrier Boyd. Paul was a farmer, a member of Hester Baptist Church, a member of the choir, taught Sunday School, was a deacon, was assistant Sunday School Superintendent, served on various committees and was a former member of the Board of Southern States. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hester Baptist Church by Reverend John Yount and Reverend Alex Gallimore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Betty Hicks Boyd; a son, Paul C. Boyd, Jr. of Oxford; daughters, Patricia B. Shearin and Loretta B. Claiborne both of Oxford; brothers, William Boyd of Oxford, and Frank Boyd of Stem; sister, Nell B. Bullock of Oxford; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded ineeath by a son, Danny Lane Boyd.
