KITTRELL: Paul Loften Preddy, a resident of Kittrell, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in the VA Hospital in Durham. He was a native of Granville County and the son of the late John Royal Preddy and Alpheus Clay Preddy. Mr. Preddy was a veteran of the Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of Peace's Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee and was also a member of the cemetery committee. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Peace's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Bruce Brooks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Howell Preddy; daughter, Carol P. Smith of Burlington, NC; sons, John W. Preddy of Kittrell and Paul Jeffrey Preddy of Louisburg; brother, Walter Troy Preddy of Oxford; sisters, Frances Ferrell of Berryville, VA and Janet Dorsey of Cary; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by brothers, John Royal, Robert A. and Grady Lee Preddy and by a sister, Janie Sanford. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the services in the church fellowship hall and at other times, they will be at the home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Nationeeadquarters, PO Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22313 or to the charity of one's choice.
