Paul P. Williams

Paul P. Williams, 89, of Carolina House of Durham passed away December 12, 2011 after a period of declining health. Born in Dunn, NC, Mr. Williams was the son of the late Walter Almus Williams aneeffie Ann Lasater Williams. He was a member of Aneer Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Williams grew up in east Durham and worked at Wentworth and Sloan for many years. He was an avid gardener, woodworker, lawn mower repairman, and amateur lapidarian. Surviving are his nephew Barry Morgan and wife, Mary, of Greensboro, NC; niece Beth Loeb and husband, Mitch, of Durham; niece Martha Latta and husband, Robert, of Winnabow, NC; nephew Mike Williams of Winston-Salem, NC and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his long-time significant other, Ms. Wilma Roberts; two sisters Florence Morgan aneelizabeth Grissom; and two brothers Frank and Clarence Williams. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 16, 2011 at Maplewood Cemetery, Section 3, with the Rev. Clarence Parrish officiating. Friends may visit Friday morning from 10:00-10:45 AM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Centered Community Church C-4, 2525 Baptist Rd., Durham, NC 27703. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Carolina House for the wonderful care provided Mr. Williams.
