Peter S. Wilson Jr, passed away January 23, 2021 after a brief illness. Peter and his wife Patricia called Chapel Hill home with their children for the last 20 years.
Born on September 16, 1958, Peter grew up in Johnstown, NY. Peter was the second oldest of five children and son of Mrs. Elise Wilson and the late Mr. Peter S. Wilson Sr. Peter graduated from Johnstown High School in 1976, received a B.S. in Accounting from Le Moyne College in 1980, received his J.D. from Albany Law School in 1983, earned his CPA in 1986, was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 1984 and earned his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1997.
Peter Wilson’s professional career mirrored his qualifications, spanning the fields of accountancy and law. Most recently, Peter was a Partner with RSM US LLP. Early in his career, he worked for Coopers and Lybrand and Krolick & DeGraff. Peter’s entrepreneurial spirit was also reflected in his career, having founded a law practice and working as a CFO for a start-up company.
Peter was a passionate sports fan from his youth that inspired a life long love for the New York Giants and Yankees and then by his children as a vocal fan of his son Tyler’s baseball games and wrestling matches to field hockey games with his daughters Bonnie and Katie on the field. Peter was also an avid supporter of the NC State baseball and wrestling teams.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Neugebauer Wilson, son Tyler Wilson and girlfriend Marta Wambaugh of Seattle, WA, daughter Bonnie and her fiancé David Doub of Raleigh, NC and daughter Katie and boyfriend Sylar Holmes of New York, NY. Peter is also survived by his mother Elise Wilson of Johnstown, NY, sister Mary Anne Wilson and her husband Robert Humphrey of Manlius, NY, brother Joel Wilson and his wife Valarie of Johnstown, NY, sister Gretchen Wilson of North Conway, NH, brother Christian Wilson and his husband John Culbertson of Marietta, GA, brothers-in-law Victor Neugebauer of Schenectady, NY, Gregory Neugebauer and his wife Carol of Colonie, NY, sister-in-law Rose Lasek and her husband Sean of Crofton, MD as well as 12 nieces and nephews.
As a consequence of Covid-19 restrictions, services will be private.
