Pierre R. Gervais age 66, died of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) at Coble Creek Healthcare on October 3, 2016. Born April 28, 1950 in Toronto Ontario, Canada, Pierre has lived in Moneeal, Ottawa and Toronto, Canada. In 1985 Xerox Canada, relocated our family to Northern Virginia where we lived ineerndon. In 1995, we moved to North Carolina and called both Carrboro and, since 2002, Durham home. Pierre???s professional career was spent at Xerox Canada, Xerox Corporation, Apple Computer and GE Capital in Computer Systems Sales and Leasing. He spent several memorable years working for the Logan Trading Company in Raleigh pursuing his favorite pastime, gardening, as a career. He became a Master Gardener in Durham and voluneered at Sarah P Duke gardens until his PSP symptoms prevented him from continuing this work in early 2014. Pierre is survived by his loving wife, Jocelyne of 44 years, and his children Eric Gervais (spouse Kimberly) of Little Silver N.J, Leigh Genkinger (spouse Thomas) of Little Silver N.J and Sophie Stevens (spouse Daniel) of Hoboken NJ.; 8 grandchildren, Jacksoneemilia and Carter Gervais, Alexia, Gracie & Cooper Genkinger and Madeline & Catherine Stevens. His sisters Louise Levesque, Aneee Piche and Helene Codner all of Moneeal Quebec, Canada Relatives and friends are welcome at Hall-Wynne, 1113 W. Main St, Durham, NC 27701 on Friday, October 21 from 5PM to 7PM. A funeral mass will be held at St, Thomas More Catholic Church, 940 Carmichael Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 on Saturday, October 22 at 9:00AM. Pierre???s family would like to thank all of his care givers, especially Pastor Sibrian from Homewatch Caregivers, who cared for him like a family member for more than 2 years. The staff at Charles House, Adult Day Care Center in Chapel Hill. The nursing staff at Coble Healthcare, Lakewood; in particular, Belenda Peters RN, Amy Abner RN, Melinda Holmes RN and aides Tabitha and Mary, your kineess and compassion was so appreciated. Also Hospice of Alamance/Caswell County, Rusty Cook RN and the entire hospice staff who were so loving and attentive to Pierre???s needs and comfort.
