Rachel S. Daniel

OXFORD: Mrs. Rachel S. Daniel age 81 of 5162 Tabbs Creek Lane died Tuesday August 26, 2008 in Durham Regional Hospital. A native of Granville Co. and the daughter of the late John and Janie Fuhee Saunders. She was a member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Mills, Oxford Plant with over 30 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday August 28, 2008 From Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jasoneeonard and Rev. Lemar Wheeler. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens, Henderson NC. Surviving are her husband, Louis W. Daniel, of the home. Her children, Henry L. Averette and wife Frances, of Stem NC; Elsie A. Nestor and husband Don, of Nashville, Tenn.; Mildred A. Heath and husband, Donald Ray, of Henderson NC; Houston Averette and wife Arlene, of Hope Mills, NC; Claude S. Averett and wife Ann, of Raleigh NC. Step-daughter, Catherine L. Scott, of Falls Church, Va. Two sisters, Mrs. Nell S. Street, of Glen Allen, Va. and Mrs. Lillian S. Swain, of Cambridge, MD. 13, Grandchildren and 12 great-Grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by one brother, Johnny Saunders. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Merchant Ct., Wilmington, NC 28405. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
