Raymond Atlas Sorrell

Raymond Atlas Sorrell, 84, of Durham died Monday, July 4, 2011 at his residence. Born in Durham County, March 27, 1927 he was the son of the late Raymond A. Sorrell and Lillian Southerland Sorrell. Raymond is survived by his wife Tillie Vickers Sorrell, daughter, Tara Sorrell, and 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Sorrell Frazier. Mr. Sorrell served in the Navy and Air Force, and was a graduate of UNC, Chapel Hill. Friends may visit Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main Street, Durham. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with the Rev. Mark Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements for the Sorrell family are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Durham.
