Rebecca Johnson Green died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Hillcrest Convalescent Center in Durham after several months of declining health. Born and raised in Creedmoor, NC, to the late Arthur C. and Bettie Fuller Johnson, she lived most of her adult life in Durham County. Mrs. Green was a long-time member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church and the Americaneegion Post 416 Auxiliary. She was a loving wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Green is survived by her son, Dr. James Ray Green, Jr. of Madrid, Spain; her daughter, Edee G. Merritt Brack of Browns Summit, NC; granddaughters, Kelly G. Clay Bill of Raleigh, NC; Dana M. Nicoletta Jason of Greensboro, NC; Kristeneerritt of Charleston, SC; grandson, Jimmy Merritt Carly of Greensboro; one great-grandson; brother, A.C. Johnson of Palm Springs, CA; sister-in-law, Christine Johnson of Norfolk, VA; niece, Betty Copeland Mike of Raleigh; and close friend, Arthur Page of Durham. She is also survived by members of her late husband's family, including sisters-in-law, Marguerite G. Lloyd of Raleigh; Mary G. Bryant William of Chesapeake, VA; Carolyn B. Green of Dataw Island, SC; Ruby Green of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Ralph G. Green of Durham and neerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, James Ray Green, Sr. and her son, Walter H. Green. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2008 from Cedar Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Williams presiding. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday evening from 7:00-8:30 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
